Tawnya Stewart serves as the Chief of People and Culture for Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV).

MLCV has nearly 2,500 Associates within various industries. As an Indigenous owned and operated organization, MLCV is committed to defending equality and celebrating diversity with our most significant opportunity for influence within our organization.


As the Chief of People and Culture Officer, Tawnya partners with Business Leaders across the portfolio to implement strategies and develop programs to deliver on the specific business needs while reinforcing the overall talent, leadership & culture strategy. She supports Associate development while looking at ways to refine the corporate culture. In addition, she develops and executes a series of engaging and contemporary experiences to improve individual and organization capabilities.


Tawnya is a graduate of the University of Minnesota; she holds a bachelor’s degree in business and communications and a master’s degree in human resources from Loyola University Chicago. She also has an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.


In her spare time, Tawnya enjoys traveling, reading, listing to podcasts, theater, and singing karaoke. Tawnya and her son Blake live in Golden Valley, Minnesota. She also focuses on learning about her Ojibwe culture. All in all, her philosophy is to “let love rule.”
