American Foundation for the Blind: Centennial Conversation

“Women in Leadership: A Conversation About the Intersection of Gender and Visual Impairment”

The American Foundation for the Blind is pleased to announce next week’s Centennial Conversation on “Women in Leadership: A Conversation About the Intersection of Gender and Visual Impairment” (March 18, 2 pm Eastern).  Registration is now open (and free!).  We hope you will join and also help spread the word, including to your networks and/or your organization’s Employee Resource Groups.

You can learn more and register here:  afb.org/WomenLeaders.

Neva Fairchild from AFB will moderate the discussion, and there will be a live Q&A opportunity. Panelists have deep expertise in politics, corporations, small businesses, and nonprofits. It is our hope that teachers, students, and corporate partners alike will all take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about the key issues facing visually impaired women, what progress has been made, and what challenges still persist:

  • Sam Latif, Company Accessibility Leader at Procter & Gamble
  • Janni Lehrer-Stein, AFB board member and disability rights advocate who has served as senior disability policy advisor to many presidential, gubernatorial, and state election campaigns
  • Kathy Martinez, who recently joined Disability Rights Advocates as President/CEO in March 2021 after having spent six years as SVP, Head of Disability and Accessibility Strategy, for Wells Fargo
  • Stephanae McCoy, founder of Bold Blind Beauty

Thank you so much for your support of AFB and for your own commitment to creating a world of inclusion, belonging, and No Limits!
